COLLINGWOOD is uncertain how long Darcy Moore and Jamie Elliott will be on the sidelines after their hamstring setbacks on the weekend.

In Moore's second game back from a hamstring strain, the 22-year-old suffered another strain in the Pies' loss to the Cats on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, in the VFL, Elliott's poor run with injury continued with another hamstring injury.

Magpies football manager Geoff Walsh said the important duo will be treated "conservatively" but that the club hadn't been able to pinpoint a return for them.

"The timeframe isn't a solid picture yet," Walsh told the club's website.

"We'll also use that time to investigate whether there are material issues in terms of why these two boys in particular have had recurrences."

In better news for the Pies, captain Scott Pendelbury looks more likely than not to be back after missing last week's defeat with an ankle injury, while emerging midfielder Tom Phillips has recovered well from concussion and is a good chance to meet the Saints at Etihad Stadium.

"Last week was one of the few games Scott has missed in his career through injury," Walsh said.

"[Phillips] has certainly pulled up really well.

"He's had tests during the week and is doing really well on those. We'll have a final test tomorrow (Thursday), but we’re confident Tom will be cleared to play."

Ben Reid is more likely to be back in round 10 against the Western Bulldogs as he deals with an Achilles injury.
