TAYLOR Garner's stop-start season is on hold again, with the high-flying Kangaroo sitting out of football this weekend after developing soreness.
The 34-game forward, who has struggled with injuries in his AFL career, played the past two weeks in the VFL in his return from hip and groin setbacks that restricted him in the pre-season.
Garner was on restricted game time a fortnight ago, but played a full match and kicked four goals in Sunday's 52-point victory over Coburg at Piranha Park.
He developed general soreness, including in his troublesome hamstrings, after that encouraging display.
North Melbourne officials chose to take a conservative approach with Garner and the hope is he will be back playing on Sunday week against Richmond's VFL side at Etihad Stadium.
The 24-year-old, who re-signed in February until the end of the 2020 season, was aiming to play every game this year.
Garner enjoyed a career-best campaign last year, playing 18 matches, averaging 15.9 disposals, kicking 16 goals and taking a mark of the year contender against Fremantle in round five.
