WINLESS in 2018 and labouring at the bottom of the AFL ladder, Carlton appears set to be without captain Marc Murphy for several weeks.
The veteran midfielder was wearing a moon boot on Sunday and will have scans early in the week after he aggravated an injury to the plantar fascia in his left foot during the warm up of Carlton's clash with North Melbourne in Hobart.
"In the warm up, it sort of popped on me a little bit, which can sometimes be a good thing with a plantar fascia," Murphy told Channel Nine on Sunday.
"Maybe it might be a one-week or two-week thing, I'm not too sure yet, I'll know more after the scan."
The Blues will also monitor young defender Jacob Weitering, who suffered a corked leg in the humiliating loss.
Hawthorn's big win over Melbourne on Sunday came at a cost, with small forwards Cyril Rioli and Paul Puopolo both injured in the clash.
Rioli looks certain to be sidelined for some time, after he suffered a medial ligament injury during the first half and didn't return.
The 28-year-old suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury to the same knee in round eight last season and sat out the remainder of the year.
Puopolo strained a hamstring during the third term and limped from the field.
The star duo will have scans early in the week to determine the severity of their respective injuries.

Teammate James Frawley sat out the entire second quarter with a migraine, but returned after half time.
St Kilda will be eagerly awaiting Dylan Roberton’s test results, after the defender collapsed behind the play in a frightening incident during the second quarter of the Saints' loss to Geelong on Sunday.
Roberton spent the night at Epworth Hospital in Geelong with a suspected irregular heartbeat with coach Alan Richardson saying after the game the defender was "doing well."

Saints rookie Rowan Marshall will be assessed during the week, after he was concussed in a collision with teammate Jack Billings in the second quarter.

Adelaide could be without two of their best players for Friday night's assignment against the Swans in Sydney.
Gun forward Eddie Betts had his left hamstring iced up in the last quarter in the Crows' loss to Collingwood, while coach Don Pyke revealed post-match that top midfielder Rory Sloane is carrying a foot complaint, which he sustained in the round two win over Richmond.
Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern left the ground in the third quarter after colliding with Collingwood defender Sam Murray, but returned to play out the match, and David Mackay will be monitored after a he copped a head knock late in the game.

Port Adelaide recruit Tom Rockliff may be in some doubt for the Power when they welcome Geelong to Adelaide on Saturday night. The former Lions captain struggled with a calf complaint in Sunday's loss to Essendon.
Rockliff's teammate Todd Marshall will be assessed, after he failed a concussion test in the rooms on Sunday following a knock.
- Sydney star Lance Franklin emerged from a knock to his shoulder in the Swans' win over the Bulldogs and should be fine to face the Crows.
- Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron will be monitored, after he appeared hampered by a left leg complaint in the Giants' win over the Dockers.
- Young Dockers midfielder Ed Langdon was a late withdrawal against the Giants because of illness, but should be fit to face the Bulldogs on Saturday night.
- Back-in-form Bulldogs forward Toby McLean left the field midway through the second quarter to have his nose and cheekbone assessed, but returned.
- Melbourne's Neville Jetta limped from the field in the third quarter in the Demons' loss to Hawthorn, but returned to play out the game.
- Consistent West Coast defender Brad Sheppard will be monitored, after he suffered more pain to the same quad he injured in last week's loss to Geelong. The Eagles will also keep a close eye on youngster Daniel Venables, who left the ground with a right ankle injury. Gun midfielder Luke Shuey limped to the bench in the first term, but returned to play out the game.
- Gold Coast may be without Ben Ainsworth for Sunday's Q-Clash with Brisbane at the Gabba. The young gun didn't reappear after suffering concussion from a Mark LeCras bump in the third term of Saturday's heavy defeat by the Eagles. Co-captain Tom Lynch received treatment on an ankle, but returned.
