The AFL wishes to advise it has invited two former greats of the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood respectively, to be the presenter of the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup to the winning club.
Since 2004, the AFL has asked a former great of the winning team to be on hand to present the premiership cup, and is delighted that Norm Smith Medallists Dean Kemp (1994, West Coast) and Tony Shaw (1990, Collingwood) had accepted the AFL’s offer for this week’s Grand Final.
Media opportunities with both Australian Football Hall of Fame members will be formalised by their respective clubs.
West Coast – Dean Kemp. Dean, 49, played 243 games for the Eagles between 1990-2001, kicking 117 goals. An inductee to the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2007, Kemp was a member of the 1992 and 1994 premiership sides. He won the club’s Best and Fairest in 1992 and was also an All Australian that season.
Collingwood, Tony Shaw. Tony, 58, played 313 games for the Magpies between 1978-94, kicking 157 goals. He was best and fairest in both 1984 and the 1990 premiership year, as well as being named All Australian in both of those seasons. Inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2010, he was captain from 1987-93.
