Jeremy Cameron, GWS Giants, has been charged with kneeing Will Schofield, West Coast, during the second quarter of the Round Eight match between the GWS Giants and West Coast, played at Spotless Stadium on Saturday May 12, 2018.
In summary, he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the West Coast Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.

Other Incidents Assessed:
Contact between West Coast’s Elliot Yeo and the GWS Giants’ Dylan Shiel from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Shiel is tackled by Yeo from behind. The West Coast player puts himself to the side of Shiel in the tackle and brings him immediately to ground. Before the pair go to ground, Yeo releases his left arm from the tackle and uses it to brace for contact with the ground. It was the view of the Match Review Officer the tackle was not careless and was not unreasonable in the circumstances.
Contact between Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe and St Kilda’s Jake Carlisle from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Carlisle is seeking to win the ball when he is contacted by Fremantle’s Taylin Duman, and goes to ground. As he goes to ground, Carlilse is tackled by Lachie Neale, and is rolled over as part of the tackle. Fyfe is approaching the contest from behind the pair of players on the ground and seeks to slow his pace towards the contest. As he reaches the players on the ground, Carlisle is rolling towards the Fremantle player and contact is made with his knee to Carlisle’s head. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that Fyfe’s action was not careless and was not unreasonable in the circumstances. The angle that the Match Review Officer was looking at to judge that Fyfe was slowing can be provided via return email on request.
Contact between Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe and St Kilda’s Seb Ross from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Ross has taken possession after a boundary throw in. He is preparing to dispose of the ball when Fyfe elects to bump. Contact is made by Fyfe’s shoulder to Ross’ upper chest area. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that the Fremantle player executed the bump with contact to the body and could not have reasonably foreseen a clash of heads between the players. Fyfe’s conduct was not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.
The match day report laid against North Melbourne’s Luke McDonald for engaging in rough conduct against Richmond’s Kane Lambert for making forceful contact from front-on during the first quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. The ball was soccered up the field by Bachar Houli and is loose as it bounces towards Lambert. McDonald is coming towards Lambert when the ball changes direction. Lambert turns back towards the ball and reaches for it as he goes to ground, while McDonald puts down two hands towards the ball as he turns side-on. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that McDonald was seeking to contest the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball in the circumstances. No further action was taken.
