The AFL advises the Match Review of last night’s round 21 Essendon v St Kilda match has been completed. Two charges have been laid and there were no other matters that required detailed explanation.

Charges Laid:
Nathan Brown, St Kilda, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Adam Saad, Essendon, during the first quarter of the Round 21 match between St Kilda and Essendon, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 10, 2018. 

In summary, he has been referred directly to the Tribunal and is not able to accept an early plea. 

Based on the available evidence and a medical report from the Essendon Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with high impact to the head. The incident has been referred directly to the Tribunal and he is not able to accept an early plea.

Cale Hooker, Essendon, has been charged with misconduct against Daniel McKenzie, St Kilda, during the third quarter of the Round 21 match between Essendon and St Kilda, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 10, 2018. 

In summary, he can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence and a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, the incident was assessed as misconduct. The incident was assessed as a $2500 sanction. The player is able to accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.
