ST KILDA has emerged as a new bidder to claim former Geelong speedster Jordan Murdoch in the Delisted Free Agency Period.
AFL.com.au reported on Thursday Gold Coast had expressed its interest in Murdoch and hoped to claim him as a delisted free agent.
Murdoch will undergo a medical test with the Suns on Friday and rival clubs believe the expansion club is best placed to sign the 26-year-old after getting the salary of contracted midfielder Jarryd Lyons off their books on Thursday.
Murdoch’s brother, former 22-game Saint Brodie Murdoch, played in Southport’s NEAFL Grand Final triumph this year.

However, St Kilda is also keen on the delisted Cat and has made him an offer to move to Moorabbin.
It's understood Murdoch, who grew up in South Australia and played his junior football for Glenelg, is yet to make a decision on his future as he continues to weigh up his options.
Murdoch was delisted by Geelong last week after 108 games in seven seasons at the Cattery, including 16 in 2018 when he played in Geelong's elimination final loss to Melbourne.

The Suns' bid for Murdoch follows their decision to allow contracted inside midfielder Lyons to join cross-town rival Brisbane as a delisted free agent.
The Suns were comfortable to let Lyons go after bolstering their on-ball division in the NAB AFL Trade Period with stoppage specialists Anthony Miles (Richmond) and George Horlin-Smith (Geelong).
Gold Coast is also hell-bent on adding extra run to its midfield. It did so by trading for Tiger Corey Ellis, while acquiring Murdoch, whose speed is complemented by good endurance, would be a bigger coup on this front.
