GREATER Western Sydney will be boosted by the return of co-captain Phil Davis and deputy Stephen Coniglio for Friday night's clash against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
Davis missed last week's win over the Western Bulldogs with a minor hamstring strain, while Coniglio will play his first game of the year after he injured his ankle in the final game of the JLT Community Series against North Melbourne in Canberra.
The 23-year-old was close to facing the Dogs last Friday night, but coach Leon Cameron admitted the club had taken a conservative approach with the important midfielder's comeback, which will happen almost two months after he went down against the Kangaroos.
"We needed to give him an extra week because this game is pretty brutal as we know, and he needs to be able to get through four quarters, so we're confident he can do that," he said.
"Obviously Stephen is our vice-captain and he's missed a bit of footy, but that extra week has convinced us that he's ready to go.
"He'll take up his normal time (on the ground), we expect him to be playing in the midfield, so it's a great challenge against a very in-form side."
Young defender Harry Himmelberg will also play his first game of the season against the Saints, with Toby Greene (suspended), Nick Haynes (hamstring), and Sam Reid (hamstring) out of last week's 22.
The GWS Academy product hasn't played for the past fortnight after missing a round of the NEAFL with injured ribs before last week's bye, but has been one of the Giants' most consistent players across half back this year.
The Giants' second straight Friday night game will be a significant milestone for foundation players Jeremy Cameron and Devon Smith, who will both play their 100th games. The two fishing buddies are now a vital part of the club's forward line after arriving in Sydney as teenagers.
"It's a great feat for those two boys to come through together, and it's quite unique because they're very close friends, so to play their 100th game together is great for us," he said.
"Their loyalty and their willingness to stick through the hard times when we were getting belted in those first couple of years is a testament to their character.
"Those two boys along with eight or nine others who started six years ago have become the backbone of the club, and have had a big say in us climbing up the ladder and playing finals footy last year."
