ADELAIDE running machine Riley Knight has taken the honours on the opening day of pre-season, winning the 2km time trial for the club's first-to-fourth year players.
Knight finished ahead of winger Wayne Milera, defender Jake Kelly and rookie-listed big man Paul Hunter at Thebarton Oval on Monday afternoon.
Knight, 22, played 19 games for the Crows this year, cementing a spot in the side across half-forward while also having the endurance to take on tagging roles.
Delisted midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen is also training with the Crows.
The Crows have committed to taking Ellis-Yolmen, who missed this season with a torn ACL, in the rookie draft if he is available.
It's just 51 days since the Crows went down to Richmond in the 2017 Grand Final.
The remainder of the Crows' squad resumes training on Monday, December 4.
Meanwhile, assistant coach James Podsiadly has left the club to focus on other business interests.
Experienced duo Ben Hart and Josh Francou have been added to the coaching panel with their roles to be finalised in the coming weeks.
The club is currently searching for a development coach to replace Nathan van Berlo, who joined West Coast last month.
