JEREMY Cameron looms as Greater Western Sydney's trump card in the finals, with one of the League's endurance specialists saying he has never seen the fit-again forward in such good shape.
Cameron missed four of the final seven rounds of the regular season because of a pair of hamstring setbacks.
But the Giants' leading goalkicker in every season of their existence returned in round 22, earlier than expected.
It was a product of Cameron's tireless work in rehab but also a fitness base built in pre-season, when his program was tweaked with a view to becoming a more mobile forward.
The 24-year-old will need to step up if GWS is to progress deep into September, a campaign that starts on Thursday night against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Tireless Tom Scully, who boasts GPS numbers that are the envy of hard-running midfielders around the country, believes Cameron is primed to fire after tune-ups against West Coast and Geelong.
"He's in the best condition I've ever seen him, in terms of fitness," Scully said.
"He's had a few games back, he's feeling good.
"He's the sort of player who only needs a quarter or even just 10 or 15 minutes to really do some damage … we saw last year what he did in the final against the Swans, he turned it on in the third quarter."
The key forward feared he would miss the start of this year's finals series after tweaking his hamstring on July 29.
"I got told probably four weeks, which was tough because that would have run through to the first final," Cameron said.
"I smashed myself in rehab.
"The body is actually feeling the best it ever has."
Cameron added a last-start loss to Geelong, when he kicked three goals in a 44-point loss, did not accurately reflect the Giants' chances of upsetting the Crows.
"We know we can bounce back," he said.
