STAR midfielders Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs are expected to be available for Carlton's clash with Sydney at the MCG on Saturday.
Murphy (knee) and Gibbs (left thumb) were injured in the Blues' 90-point loss to Port Adelaide last Friday night and underwent scans on the weekend.
AFL.com.au understands Gibbs' injury is a recurrence of a tendon injury he suffered several seasons ago. The South Australian was able to play through that injury and Carlton expects he'll be able to do so again, albeit with some discomfort.
Murphy's injury is also relatively minor. The Blues skipper has not suffered any structural damage to his knee, with his issue believed to be cartilage-related.
Murphy will have to put up with some soreness if he plays this round, but should take the field against the 0-5 Swans.
Meanwhile, Adelaide key defender Daniel Talia looks to have escaped tendon damage to the left hamstring he injured in last Saturday's win over Gold Coast.
Talia was injured in the opening minute of the match and, after being involved in the next passage of play, left the ground and did not return.
As of Monday morning, Talia was yet to undergo scans, but it's understood his injury is to the hamstring muscle, with early indications suggesting he's suffered a relatively minor strain.
Fellow Crow Riley Knight was also due to have scans on Monday after injuring his right hamstring late in Saturday's game.
Knight is thought to have escaped with muscle tightness rather than a tear.
