NUMBER two draft pick Tim Taranto has wasted no time making an impression at Greater Western Sydney, pushing the Giants' elite runners in a 3km time trial on Saturday.
Taranto, who didn't run in the club's first time trial in December, flew around the track at Tom Wills Oval to finish fifth.
Endurance king Tom Scully retained his crown ahead of big man Adam Tomlinson and ex-Fremantle midfielder Tendai Mzungu, in a repeat of the previous time trial's placings.
Scully led from start to finish as the Giants were put through their paces after the Christmas break, with the running machine beating Tomlinson home by more than half a lap.

Emerging star Josh Kelly took out fourth spot – improving from seventh last time – in a promising sign after his breakout 2016 campaign.
Another delisted Docker thrown a lifeline by GWS, Matt de Boer, showed he hasn't lost his freakish running ability to finish sixth, ahead of reigning club champion Toby Greene and ball magnet Stephen Coniglio.
But Taranto's effort is sure to turn heads, with the bullocking 186cm Sandringham Dragons product a chance to push into the Giants' star-studded midfield.
GWS, the early premiership favourites for next season, has six weeks to build towards its first JLT Community Series clash with West Coast on February 18.
