PORT Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley will make a point of letting his side enjoy Sunday night's strong win over Fremantle before turning his attention to what will be one of the most anticipated Showdowns in recent seasons. 

The Power and Crows will stage a top-of-the-table Showdown for the first time ever, and both have started the year 2-0 for the first time, meaning anticipation will be at fever pitch in Adelaide this week. 

But Hinkley has previously stated a desire to keep talk to a minimum in 2017, and preferred to focus only on Port's thumping 89-point win over the Fremantle at Adelaide Oval, immediately following the match.

"I've got to be careful about how I answer this because I don't want to be disrespectful, but I genuinely want to enjoy today and I don't want to look at the Showdown until that time comes," Hinkley said.

"It's been a pretty brutal off-season at times and if you don't enjoy what you're supposed to, footy's too hard."  

Hinkley's desire to briefly pause to enjoy what Port has achieved in rounds one and two in understandable, given the progress the League-leading Power have made. 

Widely berated as pretenders who talked-the-talk but failed to deliver following last season's 10th-placed finish, the Power couldn't have been more impressive through the first two rounds.

Port backed up round one's stunning upset over Sydney at the SCG with a clinical effort against Fremantle, its field kicking and ferocity around the contest both features.

Hinkley said he was proud of the way the side stuck to the task for four quarters. 

"Our willingness to do it all day," Hinkley said when asked what he enjoyed about the performance.  

"We're working really hard on that horrible word, 'consistency'.

"This game is so hard to play at such a high level all the time. You have to turn up each week and be prepared to do that. For us to do that over four quarters was really strong." 

Robbie Gray and Charlie Dixon shone up forward in the performance with 10 majors between them but Hinkley was reluctant to single out individuals. 

Hamish Hartlett withdrew from the selected line-up with illness but Hinkley said he would almost certainly be available to face the Crows at an expected full house for a Power home match next Saturday night. 

He expected Jasper Pittard, third in Port's 2016 best and fairest, would also be available to play, as he worked to overcome a hamstring injury. 

Jared Polec came from the ground early after reporting slight foot soreness, but Hinkley said it was purely precautionary.  

"He had a pretty big game and a pretty strong game and we're just mindful of Jared, as we always are with blokes with that type of history."
