THERE ARE ten weeks of home-and-away fixtures left before the top eight teams take part in finals.
But for Fantasy coaches, the countdown for their finals is a bit shorter.
Most leagues resume their head-to-head battles this weekend following a break for the byes. There are six rounds of these league match-ups before the four-week Fantasy finals series is played out from rounds 20-23.
As coaches jockey for position within their leagues, rules are back to normal with our two trades to use each week and the 22 on-field scorers all counting towards the weekly total.

Some coaches wouldn’t mind that extra trade this week with some of the carnage we’ve already experienced.
Michael Barlow has had surgery on his broken leg and must be traded. Scott Selwood injured his hamstring a week ago and while he hasn’t been ruled out, the popular mid-priced player is unlikely to suit up this Sunday.
Add to that the doubt that surrounds Josh Kelly, who is averaging 129 in his last five, and both trades could be forced ones.
If only we had some bargain basement players coming through.
If named for his third game, Roo Declan Mountford (MID, $180,000) looks to be the pick of the sub-$200K players this week.
Also consider Crows forward Jonathon Beech (FWD, $171,000) who kept his spot this week and could have a big night out against Hawthorn.
Round 14 sees the final Thursday night fixture of the 2017 home-and-away season.
The Crows and Hawks play at Adelaide Oval and when the ball bounces at 7:20pm ACST (7:50pm AEST), all players from those two clubs will be locked. Full lockout will come into effect at 7:50pm AEST on Friday night when the Swans v Bombers game starts.
