LUCKLESS Bulldog Dale Morris will wait until a surgeon assesses his broken right arm on Monday before making a decision on his playing future.
The 34-year-old sustained the injury after he fell awkwardly during a marking contest with Sun Tom Lynch during the second quarter of the Bulldogs' 54-point win over Gold Coast in Cairns.
He ran straight off the ground, and took no further part in the game.
The All Australian's wretched run with injury this season comes after he missed seven weeks with a broken leg sustained in round one against Collingwood.
He also missed the round 12 loss to Sydney with an ankle concern.
Morris said he'll weigh up all his options once the surgeon gives him an opinion.
"You always do (think about your playing future) with injuries like these, but we’ll just have to wait and see," at Melbourne Airport on Sunday.
"I’ll see the surgeon tomorrow, so we’ll go from there.
"It’s not too bad (my arm), it’s a bit sore, but I’ll survive.
"I’ve experienced broken bones before, so when it happened it was sore, but I’ve had worse."
That injury Morris was probably referring to was a badly broken right tibia he suffered in round 21, 2011. That horrific mishap forced him to miss the whole of the 2012 season.
With Morris likely to be sidelined for lengthy period of time, and key defender Marcus Adams unlikely to play again this season with a foot injury, it will leave vice-captain Easton Wood to lead the defence with impressive youngsters Zaine Cordy and Lewis Young.
Beveridge floated second-year key defender Kieran Collins a possible solution to the club’s injury woes after some encouraging performances in the VFL recently.
Premiership stopper Fletcher Roberts is also an option, but the 24-year-old has struggled for form this season.
