WEST Coast has overlooked Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis for Sunday's decisive clash against St Kilda, preferring to recall Chris Masten in a major selection shock.
Priddis travelled to Melbourne with the team but didn't make the final 22, despite being fit and available after missing last round's thumping of the Brisbane Lions.
The club said the 32-year-old missed that clash due to a quad injury.
But with the Eagles desperately needing an interstate victory to keep control of their finals destiny, they have left out Priddis, raising questions whether the retiring midfielder is in the club's best 22 for the rest of the season.
Masten racked up 40 touches for East Perth last weekend and is the eighth-placed Eagles' only change, replacing key defender Tom Barrass (groin).
Ruckman Nathan Vardy has failed to force his way into the line up despite recovering from a glute strain.
The Etihad Stadium clash could make or break the Saints' season and Alan Richardson's men will be buoyed by the return of champion Nick Riewoldt, who this week announced he will call time on a magnificent career at season's end.
Koby Stevens is also into the line-up, with Jack Lonie and Daniel McKenzie both dropped from the side which coughed up two late goals in a heartbreaking loss to Port Adelaide last round.
St Kilda is precariously positioned in 11th spot on the ladder with a 9-9 record, but only a win and percentage off sixth spot.
The Power have confirmed forgotten forward Angus Monfries for his long-awaited return to AFL.
Showdown 43 against Adelaide will be Monfries' first appearance since round 22, 2015.
Monfries and ruckman Paddy Ryder both served anti-doping suspensions last year after being embroiled in Essendon's supplements scandal.
Aidyn Johnson also comes in for Port, with speedster Matt White (omitted) and Matthew Broadbent (ankle) making way.
Adelaide has loaded up with star forward Eddie Betts (appendix), gun young defender Jake Lever (hamstring) and midfielder Brad Crouch (cheekbone) all returning.
The League-leading Crows have cut Andy Otten, Paul Seedsman and Wayne Milera from the outfit which drew with Collingwood.
Richmond and Hawthorn have both made only one change for Sunday's other huge clash at the MCG.
The fourth-placed Tigers regain midfielder Dion Prestia from calf and knee soreness, with young small forward Shai Bolton dropped.
Hawks veteran Luke Hodge has been suspended for one week, and replaced in the line-up by Teia Miles, who will play just his third career game and first since round three.
Paul Puopolo will return via the VFL after an adductor injury.
