SYDNEY is confident midfielder Isaac Heeney has turned a corner in his recovery from glandular fever, with hopes the young star could push for selection in round three.
Heeney was struck down with the illness earlier this month and missed round one, but he has been improving and football manager Tom Harley said he was no longer feeling any symptoms.
While the Swans are keen to keep expectations in check for the 20-year-old, Harley said it was possible Heeney could be available for the round three clash against Collingwood on April 7.
"Touch wood, he has turned a corner. All his vitals, if you like, are back," Harley told the club's website.
"He has no symptoms whatsoever, he's not feeling any fatigue at this stage.
"[He ran] on Monday, and he'll run again on Wednesday (and) we'll build up his training from that point on.
""We're a bit reluctant to put a hard and fast timeline on it ... but hopefully he's back in training at the back part of this week and pushing for selection in the next week or so."
