RICHMOND remains confident star midfielder Dustin Martin will face Melbourne in the Anzac Eve blockbuster on Monday night after getting through a final test.
Martin has been battling groin soreness in the lead up to round five, but as recently as Monday morning the Tigers had no concerns about the 25-year-old's fitness.
Coach Damien Hardwick said on Sunday the Tigers would make a decision on their gun midfielder the night before the game.
Richmond trained for 15 minutes on Sunday in a very light session, with Martin completing non-contact midfield drills and appearing comfortable.
He finished with lateral movement exercises before leaving the ground, with Hardwick saying the club had been "very happy with how he's progressed thus far".
The club has kept emergencies Anthony Miles and Sam Lloyd on standby after Saturday's VFL match.
In-form midfielder Miles would be the likely replacement for Martin in the unlikely event that he was withdrawn 90 minutes before the match.
Fellow emergency Jacob Townsend played in the VFL Tigers' 25-point win over Sandringham.
Richmond has not made any late changes to its team in the opening four rounds this season.
