PORT Adelaide chairman David Koch has publicly questioned whether the Power did the right thing by going with youth for Saturday night's elimination final with West Coast at Adelaide Oval.
Koch also said he would be prepared to trade any players who weren't committed to helping the Power win its first premiership since 2004.
The Power's season came to a crashing halt with a heartbreaking two-point extra-time loss to the Eagles.
The Power kept faith with several youngsters for the high-stakes encounter.
Dougal Howard (21 years old), Todd Marshall, 18, and Riley Bonner, 20, came into the side late in the season, while experienced trio Jackson Trengove, Aaron Young and Brendon Ah Chee were overlooked.
The Power also had defenders Darcy Byrne-Jones and Dan Houston and midfield bull Sam Powell-Pepper aged 21 or under.
"We played a young side tonight, jury's out whether we should have, but let me tell you, they learnt a bloody lot from tonight," Koch said at a function for Power supporters.
"Hopefully it counts for something (because) we are really hurting."
'Hurt' not enough to ensure success: Hinkley
Koch put the onus on the players to decide if they wanted to help the Power take the next step.
"We want players who want to win a premiership," Koch said.
"If they're not prepared, if they're just playing for us because they love to play AFL, they're not players we want.
"If they're not prepared to win a premiership for this club, we basically don't want them, let us know and we'll trade them.
"To do that, they've got to show commitment to (coach) Ken (Hinkley), they've got to show commitment to the process, the systems we've trained for and understand they're part of a team.
"It's not a one-off, it's not a one-out and they've got to make the big moments count."
