CARLTON ruckman Matthew Kreuzer has been cleared to play against Essendon after passing a final fitness test on Friday.
Kreuzer suffered a mild concussion after his head hit the ground in a tackle by Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield last Saturday night, an incident that saw the Cat hit with a one-game suspension.
The ruckman pulled up reasonably well the day after the Geelong loss, but missed training on Tuesday as he was restricted to light duties.
After being a put through a series of concussion tests during the week, Kreuzer was named in the Blues' team for Saturday's game at the MCG.
The 28-year-old cleared his final selection hurdle on Friday when he completed a light session with Carlton's main group without any complications.
Kreuzer has enjoyed an outstanding 2017 and is one of the main contenders for the All Australian ruck position.
