Fremantle v Carlton
3.05pm (WST), Friday, March 10
Domain Stadium
Fremantle's clash with Carlton looms as an important hit-out for both teams.
The Dockers sit at the bottom of the ladder and are yet to win a game.
Coach Michelle Cowan said the Dockers were not going to worry about results, but would be looking for improvement.
"We aren't about wins and losses at this stage. We're about building and getting better week to week," Cowan said.
The Dockers made two changes, bringing in midfielder/defender Stephanie Cain and defender Tarnica Golisano. Utility Beatrice Devlyn and defender Akec Makur Chuot were omitted.
The Blues will be striving for a big win, as percentage could play an important role in determining who qualifies for the Grand Final on March 25.
Midfielder Tilly Lucas-Rodd said last week's hard-fought win over the Bulldogs had given the Blues a boost in confidence for the remaining two games.
"We have to win the last two games (to make the Grand Final)," Lucas-Rodd told carltonfc.com.au.
The win over the Bulldogs snapped a two-game losing streak that had caused the Blues to drop out of the top two.
Carlton midfielder Nat Exon will miss the rest of the season after breaking her ankle last week, while defender Rebecca Privitelli was omitted.
Injury replacement player Jordan Ivey will make her AFLW debut and midfielder Jessica Kennedy was recalled.
Brisbane Lions v Western Bulldogs
10.05am (EST), Saturday, March 11
South Pine Sports Complex
The Brisbane Lions can confirm their place in the inaugural AFLW Grand Final with a win over the Western Bulldogs.
Coach Craig Starcevich said media attention the team had received in the past few weeks would help teach players how to deal with pressure.
"People in Brisbane will no doubt be getting a little excited about the prospect of what may come in the next [few] weeks," Starcevich said after the win over Adelaide.
"Part of learning to become a full-time professional athlete is to take the outside noise as something that is nice… but doesn't affect you."
The Lions made one change, with defender Shannon Campbell out after a mild concussion. Defender Kate Deegan was named for her second game.
The Bulldogs are sitting second last on the ladder, but coach Paul Groves said last week's narrow loss to Carlton showed the team was better than results suggested.
"We've started to see some signs that we've got the ability amongst the group," Groves said after the loss.
"We're happy with our list…we just haven't been able to get the results.
"A couple of injuries obviously don't help."
The Bulldogs were hit by injury again this week with captain Katie Brennan and experienced ruck/defender Aasta O'Connor out for the remainder of the season.
Brennan hasn't played since round two with an ankle injury, but suffered a season-ending quad strain at training. O'Connor will miss the last two rounds after experiencing knee soreness, although exploratory surgery showed there was no structural damage.
The Bulldogs also omitted key defender Lauren Moorecroft and midfielders Lisa Williams and Romy Timmins.
Forwards Ellyse Gamble, Kirsten McLeod and Jess Gardner come into the team, along with midfielder Rebecca Neaves.
Adelaide Crows v Melbourne
5.40pm (CST), Saturday, March 11
TIO Stadium
Adelaide's nine Darwin-based players will get the chance to play in front of a home crowd this week for only the second time.
The Crows are coming off their first loss and co-captain Chelsea Randall said learning how to deal with defeat was a valuable experience.
"It's amazing what a loss can do for a group [especially] in bringing everyone together," Randall told afc.com.au.
"We understand we need each other's support at the time, and then [we need] to move on.
"We're excited to be here in the Territory and to play a brand of football that hopefully the locals will really enjoy."
Adelaide, which played a practice game in Darwin in January, made two changes. Justine Mules was omitted and midfielder Monique Hollick has been given a week off for her wedding.
Forward Rachael Killian comes in after being a late withdrawal last week due to hamstring tightness and defender Tayla Thorn was selected.
Melbourne needs to win to keep its season alive, with vice-captain Melissa Hickey suggesting the team needed to learn how to deal with wet conditions.
The Demons' two losses (against the Brisbane Lions in round one and GWS last week) were in wet conditions and it is expected to be challenging in Darwin.
"We've had a few different challenges thrown at us, so with the humidity and sweat – it's going to be tough," Hickey told melbournefc.com.au.
"But [it will be] a great mental challenge. We're going to have to draw upon our own mental strength."
The Demons made two changes with injury replacement player Elise Strachan making her debut and forward Shelley Scott returning from a shoulder injury. Jessica Anderson and Sarah Jolly were omitted.
Collingwood v GWS Giants
11.05am (EDT), Sunday, March 12
Olympic Park Oval
Collingwood will be aiming for its third straight win when it hosts GWS at Olympic Park Oval.
Coach Wayne Siekman said the team's week-to-week improvement after a disastrous start to the season was impressive.
"[The players are] learning how to push through games because the standard keeps getting better," Siekman said.
"The opposition are getting better every week, and if you are not getting better, you are in a bit of trouble.
"We're the first Victorian team to travel interstate and win (against Fremantle last Saturday), so that's a good little moment for us."
Collingwood will be forced to make at least one change with defender Cecilia McIntosh suffering a hamstring injury against Fremantle.
Ruck Lou Wotton, defender Penny Cula-Reid and forward Helen Roden were added to the extended squad of 24, which will be cut down to 22 late on Friday.
The Giants picked up their first win last week, with coach Tim Schmidt continuing to point to the development of his team.
"All our girls have improved out of sight from when we first got them," Schmidt said.
"We're really developing – and that's what it has been about from day one."
The Giants will make at least one change with forward Kate Stanton omitted. Defender Alex Saundry and forwards Hannah Wallett and Isabella Rudolph were added to the extended squad.
This will be the Giants' fourth and final interstate trip, and they will be hoping for a better result than the three defeats they suffered on previous trips to Adelaide (a 36-point loss to the Crows), Melbourne (a 13-point defeat to Carlton) and Brisbane (a 34-point drubbing by the Lions).
