PORT Adelaide star Robbie Gray will enter the season with just one game under his belt after being rested from the JLT Community Series clash with Hawthorn at Hickinbotham Oval on Sunday.

Gray missed the Power's intra-club trial and their opening game against St Kilda, before playing in last Sunday's loss to Richmond at Mount Gambier.

Gray pulled up a bit sore on Sunday morning and the Power decided they wouldn't risk him.

Ruckman Matthew Lobbe and draftee Willem Drew have also been cut from the original 27-man squad as coach Ken Hinkley gets closer to finalising his team for the round one encounter with Sydney at the SCG.

Hawks recruit Ricky Henderson will play his first game for his new club after being signed as a free agent at the end of last year.

The Hawks have left out Grant Birchall, Liam Shiels and Brendan Whitecross.
