THE BIG boys certainly came out to play this weekend and if you hit a couple of them, massive scores were the result. On the flipside, injuries, poor rookie choices and late outs have left some coaches asking why as they limp toward finals.

Fantasy pig

Dayne Zorko was in 'Beast Mode' against the Cats, despite the Lions' heavy loss. His work rate was phenomenal and he contributed in all areas with 36 possessions, 12 tackles and four goals for 181 AFL Fantasy points. He certainly made up for his disastrous five-possession effort a couple of weeks ago.

Honourable mention: Sam Docherty is nothing short of a machine and has to come under serious snout consideration. A move into the midfield today did not change a thing for Doc … another game, another 150. Well 152 to be exact, after taking 10 marks to go with 34 possessions and seven tackles. His form is beyond anything I’ve seen from someone with defender status.

Rage trades

Dom Sheed has been a mark of consistency after moving into the midfield … that was until this performance. Watching on TV, he was harder to find than ‘Wally on the beach’ on his way to 15 possessions. His teammates obviously struggled to find him as well, given he was the only Eagle not to take a mark.

Honourable mention: Jason Johannisen is still owned by 14 per cent of the competition. Their frustration continued as 'JJ' came up against the Crows and was once again well down on expectation with 16 touches and just one mark for 55. He is basically a straight swap for a fattened rookie now.

Nine things we learned from round 16

Piglet

Mitchell Hibberd became relevant for a few coaches this week when the news came through that Josh Kennedy was a late out for the Swans and you could hear the justified and collective gulp from coaches who had no other option than to put the emergency on 'Hibbo'. Well, he stepped up for the best game of his career by a mile with 87 from 22 touches and seven marks.

With those monster scores from popular players, it was bound to happen. Unlucky though.

I was on the flipside of the big scorers as well mate. Bitter pill to swallow!
