GREATER Western Sydney has trumpeted a year of "unprecedented growth", with its on-field success in 2016 resulting in the club's best financial result.
The Giants recorded an operating surplus of $79,372, but did not reveal their overall result after depreciation and provisions. This is the second consecutive year they have declined to release their full financial results.
The operating result is an improvement on last year's operating surplus of $10,597 and a recorded loss of $530,000 in 2014.
The Giants said they had made significant strides and the result showed 2016 was a year of "unprecedented growth … with a significant increase in commercial revenue".
"We were pleased to once again record an operating surplus following record growth across all key metrics in 2016 and further build our financial base,” CEO Dave Matthews said in a club statement.
After making the finals for the first time in 2016, the Giants enjoyed a 14 per cent increase in home attendances, a 28 per cent rise in membership revenue, and a 14 per cent increase in sponsorship revenue.
