ST KILDA fans are ruing a season of missed opportunities, after champ Nick Riewoldt's final season began with promise and ended in disappointment.
The Saints were a game inside the eight with a 9-6 record after round 16, but faded to finish with 11 wins.
Giving their season verdict on the Saints in an AFL.com.au survey, fans rated the season just 5.2 out of 10.
Sebastian Ross's break-out season in midfield was recognised by Saint supporters, who named him their player of the season.
The midfielder won selection in the Virgin Australia AFL All Australian team, and received 53 per cent of the vote from Saint fans.
Alan Richardson still has fans' support despite the middling year, with 82 per cent of respondents happy with him as coach.
