SYDNEY forward Kurt Tippett has been left out of the 22 to play North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. 

Tippett has missed the past two weeks with a hip concern and has been named as an emergency, alongside Gary Rohan, in the important clash for the Swans.

John Longmire's side posted its first win of the season last Sunday against the Brisbane Lions and will go in unchanged against the in-form Roos.

First-round draft pick Jy Simpkin and backman Sam Durdin are in for North Melbourne in place of Jarrad Waite (suspended) and Corey Wagner (ankle).

Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray has been named to face Gold Coast in China on Sunday despite concerns over his calf. 

Gray failed to complete the Power's training session on Thursday in Shanghai and had his right calf strapped and iced. 

Aaron Young and Dan Houston miss out while speedsters Brendon Ah Chee and Karl Amon have been brought into the side.

Key defender Rory Thompson returns to the Suns team for the first time since round three after a quad injury, while youngsters Jack Bowes and Brayden Fiorini have been named. 

David Swallow (knee), Matt Rosa (concussion) and Callum Ah Chee (back) are missing from the round seven side that beat Geelong. 

Fremantle veteran Danyle Pearce returns for his first game since round two for the contest with Richmond at the MCG on Sunday afternoon. After playing four games for the year, midfielder Harley Balic misses with illness.

Richmond ruckman Toby Nankervis replaces Ivan Soldo for the Tigers. Defender Jake Batchelor and forward Shane Edwards come in for Anthony Miles and Nick Vlastuin, who misses after suffering a fractured shoulder. 

For Melbourne, second-year forward Sam Weideman will play the eighth game of his career on Saturday night after replacing Jesse Hogan in the team to play Adelaide. Hogan didn't fly to Adelaide after missing Thursday's main training session with illness.
