The inside word
At 192cm, has shown he can play both ends of the ground. Rutledge is big-bodied, competitive and marks the ball well overhead. Generally used as a defender who can go forward, he is best used as a third tall. Courageous when going back with the flight, he reads the game well, taking numerous intercept marks and possessing neat disposal by foot. Rutledge has played two years for Queensland at the U18 National Championships, and also been a regular in the Brisbane Lions reserves for the past two seasons.
