DYLAN Williams looms as a possible surprise selection early on night two of the NAB AFL Draft on Thursday.
Following the opening round of the draft on Wednesday night, where 21 players were selected at Marvel Stadium, clubs will kick off the second round from 7pm AEDT on Thursday with the rest of the national draft selections to be made throughout the evening.

Port Adelaide holds the opening selection of the second evening and Williams, an exciting goalkicker from the Oakleigh Chargers, is among the players in its sights at No.22.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Power will take the pick into the night, with clubs to have a mini-trade period from 4pm-6pm AEDT before the draft to sort any possible pick swaps.
The trades will not be officially confirmed by the AFL until the broadcast of the draft begins, however clubs will be able to track which selections move.

That is designed to stop a backlog of trade deals at the start of the night, with the top three picks of the second round of last year all swapping hands prior to the draft and creating a long line of trades to be pushed through the League's processing system.
Port has also been linked to midfielder Trent Bianco, tall forward Harrison Jones and key defender Josh Worrell.

The club would likely be able to move back some spots down the order to grab Williams, with Geelong (No.26) believed to also have some interest in the talented medium forward who starred as a bottom-ager last season but had an inconsistent year in 2019 that ended with three months on the sidelines due to a back stress fracture.

He had previously been linked to the Power when they held pick No.29 before they made their pre-draft swap with Brisbane, and his recent 2km time-trial result two weeks ago highlighted his improved running efforts.
The Power will be open to deals for pick No.22, however, they will be mindful of sliding back too far in any potential deal, because they will not want a bid for father-son prospect Jackson Mead to come before their third selection.

They have manoeuvered their draft hand to all but ensure that their fourth and final pick will be used to match a bid on Mead, the son of best and fairest winner Darren, with a bid expected to come later in the second round.
Port used its top two picks on half-forward/wingman Miles Bergman and powerful forward Mitch Georgiades on Wednesday night.
DRAFT BOLTER From a year out of footy to a first-round pick
The machinations of the early part of the second round will be fascinating.
Clubs expect those with early picks on Thursday – including Port (No.22), Brisbane (No.23), Adelaide (No.24 and 25) and the Cats (No.26) – to be peppered with phone calls throughout the day with trade offers from clubs keen to push up the order.
Where Deven Robertson ends up will be the major storyline. The Larke Medallist was overlooked on night one, as the only player who attended the event who wasn't drafted.

Brisbane is considered to be strong fans of the ball-winner, and he has tested well for pace, so the Lions may see his talent as too strong to pass up.
It is understood Adelaide will also seriously look at Robertson very close with its back-to-back selections, having decided to go tall with its first pick overall (key defender Fischer McAsey - pictured below).

Geelong could consider the midfielder at No.26, Melbourne would likely swoop at No.30, while it will be interesting to see if Essendon (with picks No.33 and 35) can jump up the board to consider the West Australian. The Bombers are targeting inside midfielders.
Midfield pair Jay Rantall and Harry Schoenberg are likely to be in the next batch of players picked, with Adelaide to consider the pair, while North Melbourne and Sydney will look at Schoenberg.
Jones is also a chance to end up at the Crows, who will look at Will Gould with their pair of picks. The Roos, who hold selections No.28, 29 and 32, are also in the mix for Gould, with the strong-bodied half-back flanker an important player in Glenelg's senior SANFL premiership this season.
Elijah Taylor has been linked to Sydney with one of its picks (either No.27 or 34), while Trent Rivers, Hugo Ralphsmith and Charlie Comben are among the other prospects who could find an AFL home early on night two of the draft.

A bid will also be expected to come early in proceedings on Hawthorn father-son midfielder Finn Maginness. The Hawks will match the call, but it may be left to one of the Roos' triple picks to nominate Maginness, who some clubs view as a top-15 talent.
