WEST Coast ruckman Scott Lycett has been ruled out of Sunday's NAB Challenge clash with Adelaide with an ankle problem and small forward Jamie Cripps is also likely to miss with a back issue.

Lycett and Cripps both walked laps during West Coast's open training session on Tuesday at Domain Stadium.

Lycett injured his ankle during last weekend's intraclub match and Eagles general manager of football Craig Vozzo told the club's website he had already been ruled out of the first NAB challenge game. 

"Scott suffered an ankle turn and injury in the trial match we had last weekend," Vozzo said.

"Fortunately for him it has ended up being a one-to-two week injury, we would think at the most."

Cripps has not been officially ruled out yet but Vozzo said the club would not take any risks.

"He's had some problems with his back and hip area, some tightness and general soreness," Vozzo said.

"We'll take no risks this weekend but we haven't ruled him at this stage. But I would suggest he's no better than a 50 per cent chance to play."

The news comes just a day after the club revealed midfielder Chris Masten would miss eight to 10 weeks with an ankle injury.

The injury occurred during the intraclub but the Eagles initially thought it was only minor. Further investigation revealed a syndesmosis injury in his left ankle.

Rookie Simon Tunbridge has been sidelined with a back problem and will spend the next three to four weeks on a graduated rehab program.

However, Jack Redden and Dom Sheed are both on track to be available to play later in the NAB Challenge. Redden has been recovering from adductor surgery prior to Christmas while Sheed has been working his way back from a knee cleanout.

The Eagles' second NAB Challenge match is against Gold Coast in Joondalup on March 3. Their final pre-season match is against Essendon at Domain Stadium on March 13.
