SYDNEY Swans senior assistant coach Stuart Dew rates Greater Western Sydney's midfielders on par with his own star-studded group, which contains three All Australian representatives.
The highly rated Dew, who is in charge of stoppages at the Swans alongside Josh Francou, said the Giants' onballers might not have the resumes to match his own players – in particular All Australians Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dan Hannebery – but they were every bit as effective.
GWS co-captain Callan Ward, Stephen Coniglio and Tom Scully all made the 40-man All Australian squad after fantastic seasons in 2016, but were left out of the final 22 last week.

Dew said that this week's qualifying final against the Giants at ANZ Stadium would be a huge test for the Swans through the middle of the ground.
"They're probably equal on ability, but get a little bit less attention than our guys," he said.
"Obviously (Stephen) Coniglio was stiff (not to be named All Australian), Dylan Shiel is dangerous, but he missed some footy which probably cost him.
"A lot of the midfielders make the All Australian team because of their durability.
"Toby Greene got rewarded for his season, and they've got Ryan Griffen in there who goes under the radar; he's an ex-captain of a footy club, so they bat pretty deep."
The Swans have won eight of the 10 finals they've played at ANZ Stadium, but have lost their last two games at the venue; against North Melbourne in last year's semi-final which ended their season, and in round 16 earlier in the year against Hawthorn.
John Longmire's side trained there on Tuesday afternoon in what will be their only session at the ground before Saturday's match, and despite the larger surface than their home ground at the SCG, Dew said the team's game style wouldn't be tinkered with.
"We don't adjust according to grounds," Dew said.
"Even when we go to the MCG or Perth, which are different shapes, we try and play the same way, defend the same way, and certainly attack in a similar way.
"It's just a good opportunity for the players to get some familiarity, guys will have some shots and goal. Its a bit of a different background and a change up as well, which is quite good for us."
