ADELAIDE has lost its appeal against the two-game SANFL suspension handed to defender Andy Otten for making intentional contact with an umpire.
The SANFL judiciary upheld Otten's suspension on Thursday evening.
Adelaide presented a medical report to the Tribunal showing Otten was concussed after taking a hit to the head from Glenelg player Tim Sumner.
But that didn't sway the Tribunal's view that Otten deliberately pushed field umpire Leigh Haussen in the back during Adelaide's SANFL game at the Bay Oval last Sunday.
The suspension rules Otten out of Adelaide's next two AFL matches against Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs, and SANFL fixtures with South Adelaide and North Adelaide.
Otten was pushing his claims for his first senior game since his second knee reconstruction after the round 20 match against the Brisbane Lions in 2014.
The 26-year-old has played 79 games for the Crows since making his debut in 2008.
He was named as an emergency for the final four games last year, including the club's two finals.
Former Gold Coast forward Sumner was handed a three-game suspension for striking Otten.
