THE BRISBANE Lions will wear a 1916-style Fitzroy jumper to commemorate its Hall of Fame match in round 14 after the club's fans chose it from three alternatives.
The guernsey, to be worn against Richmond at the MCG on June 25, will sport a Fitzroy monogram in place of the lion and will boast a diamond jubilee watermark in the background.
The jumper is significant for a number of reasons.
It marks 100 years since Fitzroy won the premiership in 1916, and 60 years since Hall of Fame Legend Kevin Murray won the first of his record-breaking nine best and fairest awards.
The match against the Tigers will precede the Lions' third bi-annual Hall of Fame event, where past greats are recognised for their contribution to the club.
Three-time premiership player and Brownlow medalist Jason Akermanis will be among those eligible to join the Lions' Hall of Fame this year.
