NO CHARGES will be laid against two Hawthorn players who were co-operating with a police investigation into an alleged sexual assault in October last year.
Victoria Police released a statement on Monday morning confirming the investigation had been completed and no charges would be laid.
Hawthorn also confirmed the news in a brief statement, saying the club would offer no further comment.
The club had previously confirmed that two players, one of whom was a premiership player, were helping police with the investigation.
The two players were interviewed by police on October 20.
Police had received a complaint about an alleged sexual offence in the Melbourne suburb of Ashwood on October 9 – six days after Hawthorn's historic premiership three-peat.
