PORT Adelaide has been dealt a blow in its quest for finals, with key forward Charlie Dixon ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Greater Western Sydney at the Adelaide Oval.
Dixon suffered an ankle injury in the final quarter of last Saturday's win over North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
The Power’s high performance manager Darren Burgess said it was unclear how long Dixon would be out for.
"Because of the nature of the injury, it’s difficult to say exactly when he’ll be back but we’ll rehabilitate him as quickly as possible without risking any further damage," Burgess said.
"This is a new injury, a trauma injury, and fortunately has nothing to do with the ankle problems Charlie’s had in the past."
Dixon has kicked 30 goals in his 16 games for the Power this season, but only two goals in the previous four weeks.
