Forward Harrison Himmelberg is another late scratching from the Giants' squad.
Along with Boyd, the Dogs have left out Mitch Honeychurch, Declan Hamilton, Bailey Dale and former Brisbane Lion Jed Adcock on a hot day in Canberra, with the temperature sitting at 34 degrees an hour before the opening bounce.
