ADELAIDE could announce the re-signing of star defender Daniel Talia as early as Wednesday night's annual general meeting at Adelaide Oval.
News of a long-term contract extension for the full back was broadcast on Adelaide television on Tuesday night and it's believed the deal could be for as many as five years.
Fellow defender Brodie Smith is also reportedly very close to re-signing with the club.
Both contract extensions weren't on the radar for Crows vice-captain Rory Sloane although he said they were certainly players the club wanted to keep.
"We haven't heard anything. It's you guys (in the media) that have spread a bit of stuff," Sloane said.
"What's Don Pyke is doing is creating a really team-orientated atmosphere inside the footy club … we want to obviously keep guys around and Talia's an unbelievable footballer.
"He's so strong down back – a crucial part for us. Hopefully we get some good news at some stage.
"Those guys down back (Smith and Talia) are absolutely crucial for us. Talia's been All Australian, so has Brodie … these guys are such team-orientated players and they're the guys we want."
Sloane declared himself a certain starter for Sunday's NAB Challenge clash against Fremantle in Mount Barker, after being rested for the club's 100-point win over West Coast.
The Crows look set to take a far more inexperienced side to Western Australia but Sloane said it wouldn't change what the club hoped to see from the playing group.
"I'm so keen to play - it'll be a good trip to Perth," he said.
"You can only play who you play … we're going out there to win every game.
"That's an important part of building a strong culture is you teach young guys how to play a winning style of footy and the style we've created here that'll certainly show each week.
"We'll go over there with a strong side again and expect to perform."
