WEST Coast’s win over North Melbourne on Sunday is the standard the Eagles should be aspiring to play to every week, according to skipper Shannon Hurn.
The Eagles produced one of their best performances of the season, defeating North Melbourne by 32 points at Domain Stadium.
Their form has been patchy following last season's run to the Grand Final, with Sunday's win being their first over a top-eight side this year.

Hurn said the Eagles were starting to find their best form as they head towards September.
"I think it's starting to come together now, but so it should too," Hurn told AFL.com.au.
"We've got a pretty good group, blokes have played enough footy together now. We're reasonably senior.
“We've played in some pretty hard games in the past 18 months, so that's how we should be playing well and that's through how you train and how you prepare.
"But we've got to keep doing it going forward."
One of the more impressive aspects of the Eagles' win over the Kangaroos was their tackling, laying 77 tackles to 60 in a very physical encounter. The Eagles have lost the tackle count in four of their five losses this season and they only levelled the count in the fifth game against the Sydney Swans.
Hurn said the tackling effort was a good sign for the Eagles as they head towards September.
Five talking points: West Coast v North Melbourne
"Intent is a massive thing in footy," Hurn said.
"The thing that I think that blokes have worked out is you can control your effort and attitude to the game and I think that showed out today, yes with the tackling, but I think it was just a well-rounded performance."
Hurn said the task now was to back up that performance on the road against Carlton next Sunday at the MCG.
"It's extremely important," Hurn said.
"I know we talk about away form and stuff like that, but it's important to play like that regardless of where you go.
"That'll be the biggest challenge for us going towards the end of the year.
"Because if we can do it home and away, I think we'll be a reasonable chance towards the end of the year. But you can only control that week-by-week and the effort and the attitude that you want to bring."
The Eagles face Carlton, Melbourne, Collingwood and Fremantle over the next month before matches against Greater Western Sydney, Hawthorn and Adelaide to finish the home and away season.
