JOIN Nathan Schmook LIVE from 5pm AEST on Tuesday as the AFL Tribunal hears the striking charge against Port Adelaide's Tom Jonas.
Jonas was sent straight to the Tribunal after his crude hit on West Coast onballer Andrew Gaff in the third quarter of Saturday's clash was graded as intentional contact with severe impact to the head.
The Power defender said on Monday he would accept whatever penalty the Tribunal handed down, and that he had contacted Gaff to apologise.
Jonas sent to Tribunal, Dog gets two
"Firstly I want to say how extremely remorseful and disappointed I am with the incident that occurred on Saturday night," Jonas said.
"You never like to injure or see another player injured in our game and that's not in the spirit of the game.
"I contacted Andrew straight after the game and he was good enough to accept my apology.
"I'll receive a sanction and I'll cop whatever comes my way and learn from it … hopefully I'm not going to be remembered for that."
Jonas will remain in Adelaide and appear at the Tribunal by video link.
