HAWTHORN wingman Bradley Hill has been fined $1000 but has avoided conviction over a nightclub altercation during the pre-season.
Hill appeared in the Dandenong Magistrates Court on Monday after being charged with one count of unlawful assault following an incident at Empire Club in Narre Warren in the early hours of Sunday, January 24.
The 22-year-old, who notified the club at the time of the incident and cooperated fully with police, was offered a diversion program and accepted a $1000 fine.
Hawthorn has matched the fine, with that portion of the money to be donated to charity.
"Bradley has kept the club informed throughout this entire process and was counselled on the matter in January," general manager of football operations Chris Fagan said in a statement.
"The club has decided to match the financial sanction of the court and as such Bradley will donate $1000 to Step Back Think, a not-for-profit organisation focused on the prevention of social violence."
The alleged incident reportedly occurred between a man and three other people, with Victoria Police confirming in April that a 21-year-old man was treated for minor facial injuries.
It is the second time in a week that Hill has copped a fine.
The triple-premiership Hawk was hit with a $500 fine last Wednesday after he was caught driving while his licence was suspended late last year.
The club said Hill was unaware his licence was suspended when he was randomly stopped by police.
No conviction was recorded.
