A THREE-person sub-committee of the AFL Commission will hear the Lachie Whitfield case involving Greater Western Sydney on Thursday, December 22.
The sub-committee will consist of Commission chairman Mike Fitzpatrick and commissioners Jason Ball and Paul Bassat and the hearing will take place in Melbourne.
The Giants chose to contest the charge of conduct unbecoming made against the club under AFL Rule 2.3 after two former officials, football manager Graeme Allan and player welfare manager Craig Lambert, and current player Lachie Whitfield, were suspended in November for conduct prejudicial to the interests of the AFL.
The Commission made the decision for a sub-committee to hear the decision at its monthly meeting on Tuesday.
Gabrielle Trainor, who joined the Commission at the start of the season, was on the Giants board in 2015 when conduct relating to the charges was alleged to have occurred.
Allan, Lambert and Whitfield accepted sanctions imposed by the AFL after Whitfield did not provide whereabouts information to ASADA on the advice of officials.
