CLUBS are yet to express interest in North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey as the veteran weighs up whether to play at another club in 2017, manager Shane Casley says. 

Harvey, the VFL/AFL game's record holder with 432 games, was one of four veteran players not to have their contracts extended by the Kangaroos. 

The 38-year-old is still keeping his options open but is considered a "long shot" to play next year.

Collingwood has already ruled itself out of the race to acquire Harvey with coach Nathan Buckley on Saturday saying the midfielder will not be at the Magpies next year.

"The clubs aren't ringing me and I'm not ringing them," Casley said. 

"We've met with no club and we've had no offers from clubs.

"There's been some dialogue but that's been about all there is."

Casley said Harvey would play at North Heidelberg in the Northern Football League with his brother Shane if an AFL opportunity does not present itself.

"It was always going to be a hard decision for him to pull another jumper on," he said.

"That's honestly what he battles with.

"It was probably going to be a long shot that he did (play on), but he hasn't ruled it out yet."

Harvey is set to go on an overseas holiday with his family where he is expected to make a call one way or another.

Meanwhile, Greater Western Sydney veteran Joel Patfull, 31, can trigger a clause in his contract to play at the club next season, but still has to make a call on whether he goes around again in 2017.

Casley also manages Essendon free agent Courtenay Dempsey and said he remains in limbo and is waiting to hear from the Bombers about whether he receives another contract.
