GOLD Coast is out to end its season the way it started - with a hat-trick of wins.
The Suns made a blistering start to this year, winning their opening three fixtures.
A 10-game losing streak then cruelled any hopes of the Suns making a tilt at finals football for the first time in the club's history.
But recent improved performances have given the club hope going into next season and midfielder Mitch Hallahan says the team is determined to finish as they started.
"We started the year off so well, winning the first three, now we've got an opportunity to win our last three," Hallahan said.
"That's a big thing for us. If we can tick those off, roll into the pre-season with a full head of steam, the boys will be really hungry knowing that we can play some really good footy going into next year."
The Suns pushed in-form Greater Western Sydney all the way last weekend before succumbing to an eight-point loss.
Injuries from that game to Alex Sexton (corked thigh) and Tom Nicholls (knee) have further hit the Suns, who have a lengthy injury list including six of their best midfielders.
A former Hawthorn player who experienced first-hand the creation of the Hawks' triple-premiership dynasty, Hallahan says he can see similar foundations being laid at the Suns.
"Look at our NEAFL (reserves) team probably two years ago, I don't think they won a game," the 23-year-old said.
"Last year we won maybe two or three. This year we're starting to string a few together. The foundations are built from the bottom up.
"Their success creates a real excitement and spark around the place and that's healthy for the club to experience that."
