CHAMPION midfielders Ian Stewart and Shane Crawford have agreed to present Trent Cotchin and Sam Mitchell with their Brownlow Medals at a ceremony next week.
Cotchin and Mitchell will both be awarded the 2012 Brownlow Medal retrospectively after original winner Jobe Watson relinquished his title last month having failed to clear his name from doping charges.
In a landmark decision from the AFL Commission, the joint runners-up will receive their medals in a low-key lunchtime function next Tuesday in front of family, friends and special guests.
The AFL confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that Cotchin would be presented with his medal by 1971 Brownlow medallist Stewart, the Tigers' most recent winner.
Mitchell, now a West Coast player but a Hawthorn star in 2012, will receive his medal from Hawks champion Crawford, who won the award in 1999.
The Brownlow Medal is traditionally presented by the previous year's winner, but 2011 medallist Dane Swan will not be involved in the ceremony.
The 45-minute presentation, which will be open to the media, will take place in Melbourne and will be followed by a private gathering for both players.
