ROSS Lyon will coach his 100th game for Fremantle in Saturday night's Western Derby.
The Dockers coach began his tenure with Fremantle at the start of 2012 after five seasons and 123 games with St Kilda.
Lyon signed a contract extension in March that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2020 and give him the opportunity to coach more than 200 games at Fremantle.
Chris Connolly is currently the Dockers' record-holder for games coached with 129 but Lyon will pass that next season. Incredibly, Lyon only needs one more win to register the most wins by any coach the Dockers' history. Connolly and Lyon are currently tied on 67 wins each.
These are Lyon's most significant wins to-date.
Preliminary final 2013 v Sydney Swans at Domain Stadium
The Dockers had played in a preliminary final under Connolly in 2006, also against the Swans at ANZ Stadium. But they had never hosted a preliminary final in their history. But there was no sign of nerves as Lyon's men delivered a ferocious display of team pressure. They squandered opportunities in the first quarter to establish a significant lead but they suffocated the Swans in the second term. The Dockers did not allow the Swans a single possession inside 50 for 27 minutes and kicked five goals to one point for the quarter. The lead stretched to 54 at one stage during the third term before they turned their attention to a first Grand Final appearance.
Elimination final 2012 v Geelong at the MCG
In 2010, the Dockers were hammered in a knock-out semi-final against the Cats at the MCG. Two years later with Lyon at the helm, against the same opponent, the reigning premiers, the Dockers showed just how far they had come. They had never won a final away from home, having only won two finals in their history to that point. They came out and hammered the defending champions with a stunning opening term. The Dockers piled on 5.7 to 0.1. Skipper Matthew Pavlich kicked three goals for the quarter and would finish with six for the match. The Dockers would lose the semi-final to Adelaide by just 10 points at AAMI Stadium and the Crows would go within a kick of the Grand Final the following week, confirming the Dockers were legitimate contenders.
Qualifying final 2013 v Geelong at Simonds Stadium
The build-up to this game was surrounded by controversy when the AFL decided to fixture the final at Simonds Stadium instead of the MCG or Etihad Stadium. The Cats had won 43 of 44 matches at the venue since 2008. But Lyon's mantra of "anywhere, anytime" was so ingrained in the players that they rolled into Geelong unflustered and produced an astounding win to turn the finals series on its head and secure the Dockers their first-ever home preliminary final. The Dockers were 20 points down at one stage in the second term. Steve Johnson had dominated the opening term with two goals. Lyon sent Ryan Crowley to him at quarter-time and he shut him out of the game.
Round 17 2015 v Richmond at the MCG
The Dockers had no right to win this game. The Tigers had more possessions, contested possessions, clearances, inside 50s and scoring shots. But the Dockers stole the game at the death with David Mundy drilling a clutch set-shot with less than a minute left, after the Dockers had trailed for the entire second half. Mundy's composure and skill was lauded but the Dockers' defensive structure at Richmond's kick out moments earlier forced a turnover from Bachar Houli. Garrick Ibbotson produced the intercept mark and found Mundy inside 50 who kicked the match-winner. Without that win Fremantle would not have claimed their first minor premiership.

Round one 2012 v Geelong at Domain Stadium
This was a precursor of things to come. Lyon's clandestine move to Fremantle at the end of 2011 had been the hot topic all summer and in round one against the reigning premiers at home the Dockers produced a nail-biting win to set them on their way to winning a final at the MCG later that season. The Dockers made a statement early kicking five straight goals in the first 13 minutes before the Cats had even scored. But the champs fought back to lead at half-time. Scores were level at three-quarter time but the Dockers kicked four goals to three in the last quarter to win by four points.
The Dockers have produced some other outstanding wins during Lyon's tenure that are worth noting.
Many wondered how the Dockers would bounce back from the 2013 Grand Final loss. There was great hype surrounding the 2014 season opener against Collingwood with many anticipating the Magpies would stretch the Dockers after an indifferent pre-season. Lyon's men smacked the Magpies by 70 points to remind everyone how good they were.
The Dockers entered the 2015 qualifying final against the Sydney Swans with questions about their form in the second half of the season despite winning the minor premiership. They produced a typically gritty performance to book another home preliminary final.
In round 11, 2012, they beat Richmond against the odds at the MCG. Nat Fyfe was unavailable through injury and they lost Aaron Sandilands to injury in the first quarter. But a great performance from Jon Griffin (43 hit-outs) and accurate kicking, led by six goals from Pavlich, helped deliver a vital win.
