This weekend: Subiaco v Peel Thunder, Grand Final - Sunday September 25, 2.30pm, Domain Stadium
Midfielder Ed Langdon steered Peel to its maiden WAFL Grand Final triumph, finishing with an equal game-high 39 disposals, nine inside 50s, eight marks and a goal in the 23-point win over Subiaco.
The 20-year-old showed off his leg speed and run and carry ability from the outset, just days after signing a one-year contract extension with the Dockers.
Langdon sealed the deal late in the final quarter with a superb snap around his body from the boundary.
Midfielder Connor Blakely continued his recent eye-catching form with 38 disposals and was awarded the Simpson Medal as the player judged best afield.
Speedy forward Shane Yarran also played a pivotal role with five goals, including four in the first half, although his game ended early in the final term after being involved in a head clash.
The 27-year-old displayed his blistering speed to swoop on a loose ball and run into an open goal late in the first quarter, kicking consecutive goals to give Peel a 24-point quarter-time lead.
Yarran's highlight came in the tense third quarter just as Subiaco launched a spirited comeback.
The forward pounced on a kick from Tendai Mzungu into open space and used his leg speed to drill a team-lifting goal, which gave Peel a 16-point advantage late in the third quarter.
Mzungu, who is out of contract, was important all afternoon and kicked a left-foot goal from 50m in the first quarter to go with his 31 disposals, nine inside 50s and seven marks.
Unrestricted free agent Matt de Boer laid a game-high 14 tackles and had 30 possessions, while another unsigned Docker, defender Alex Silvagni, was a rock in defence with 15 disposals and eight marks.
Peel's four-goal-to-one opening quarter proved the difference.

This weekend: Casey Scorpions v Footscray, Grand Final - Sunday September 25, 3pm, Etihad Stadium
Young midfielder Clayton Oliver was the Casey Scorpions' best player in its 31-point loss to Footscray in the VFL Grand Final.
Oliver collected 31 disposals and seven clearances in a typically tough display.
Matt Jones (27 disposals), Ben Kennedy (24) and Jack Grimes (24) all had their share of the ball.
Forward Sam Weideman registered 2.2 and started well but a poor third term from the Scorpions made it hard for the 19-year-old to make an impact as the match went on.

A best-afield performance from Lin Jong saw him win the Norm Goss Medal after he picked up 29 disposals in Footscray's premiership team.
Experienced ruckman Will Minson had 11 disposals and 32 hit-outs while Tom Campbell kicked two goals. Both are in line to replace Jordan Roughead if he is not declared fit for the Grand Final after being struck in the right eye with a football last Saturday.
Fellow inside midfielder Koby Stevens won the same amount of the ball as Jong in an impressive display.
Lukas Webb (22 disposals) and Bailey Williams (19) also played well for the Dogs.
