Greater Western Sydney's sparkling round-six triumph over Hawthorn made the AFL take notice, but coach Leon Cameron knows his side proved another point against Fremantle.
The Giants were in the spotlight ahead of their trip to Perth, following their unprecedented 75-point demolition of reigning premiers Hawthorn.
Saturday night's 14.11 (95) to 11.11 (77) victory over Fremantle was the fledgling club's first in their seven trips to Domain Stadium and Cameron was pleased with the way his side handled the weight of expectation.
"It's been an interesting week, this week," he said.
"We all know that we played some really good footy last week against Hawthorn, we can't take that away, we played some great footy. But, we all know that Hawthorn were a little bit off as well.
"To then back up again next week in totally different circumstances away from home, it's our fifth time on the road out of seven, and win when we've actually had some pretty poor performances here (Domain Stadium), shows that internally they're handling that expectation better.
"The boys just want to play footy. There's no doubt that externally, people are going to talk about us, and talk about Geelong, and the sides that are winning at the moment, so we've just got to deal with what we can internally and rock up and compete.
"I thought they did that pretty well tonight."
Five talking points: Fremantle v Greater Western Sydney
What began as a free-flowing shootout with 10 goals in the opening term turned into a dour arm wrestle after the long break, with the Giants holding on to claim victory despite kicking only four second-half majors.
"It was a really good game for us to be involved in because playing Fremantle is a tough game of footy and we knew exactly what it was going to be like," Cameron said.
"They gave everything and we responded and I was really proud that we could get over the line."

The Giants were led by West Australian-product Stephen Coniglio (32 disposals) and co-captain Callan Ward, who celebrated his 150th AFL appearance with 31 touches and 10 clearances.
Heath Shaw had 26 disposals while Steve Johnson turned back the clock with two classy snaps as GWS won four games in a row for the first time in their short history.
"Some players were probably a little bit down from last week but they still contributed throughout the game so that was the pleasing thing," Cameron said.

"They all add up at the end. To win on the road against Fremantle - if you had asked me at the start of the year, I would have taken it straight away."
The only sour note for the visitors was a hamstring injury to co-captain Phil Davis who is likely to spend some time on the sidelines.
Cameron said the club was yet to assess the injury, but it was likely Davis would miss "a week or two".
