FREMANTLE coach Ross Lyon expects Michael Walters to be fit to face the Sydney Swans on Saturday, despite a short break since the forward rolled his ankle.
Walters went through a series of tempo runs away from the main group at training on Thursday morning. He was not moving as sharply as normal but didn’t look to be in too much discomfort.
Walters' importance is heightened by the fact that the Dockers are still without All Australian small forward Hayden Ballantyne, who is serving the second week of a suspension.
"We're all pretty fit and healthy," Lyon said on Thursday morning.
"You hold your breath until you get through."
Lyon believes the undefeated Swans will provide the toughest test of the season to-date.
"We are under no illusions how difficult it's going to be," Lyon said.
"It's a strong test of our football. You need stress, you need to be tested to improve.
"We see it as an opportunity to improve. That's really our focus. We need to keep improving every time we train and play to get to where we want to go.
"We come in with no excuses. We understand the calibre goes up, and it's going to be a really difficult assignment.
"They travel well. Good teams win anywhere, and they're a good team."
