BRISBANE Lions ruckman Stefan Martin has hobbled from the training track on Thursday after a knock to his right knee.

Martin was taking part in a match simulation session when he was assisted from the Coorparoo ground.

He immediately iced the knee.

Early testing has indicated there is no structural damage from the contact injury, and the Lions believe it to be nothing serious.

They already have a shortage of ruckmen, with Trent West still on the comeback trail from an ACL injury, and rookie Archie Smith in a moonboot with ligament damage in his foot.

West is due back by round eight, while Smith should be back in a couple of weeks.

Matthew Leuenberger is fully fit after a knee injury wiped out much of his 2014.

After successive wins to start their NAB Challenge campaign, the Lions have this weekend off before playing their final match against Gold Coast on March 20.
