CAM McCarthy's manager has implored Giants coach Leon Cameron and chief executive Dave Matthews to meet with the key forward's parents and discuss his desire to return home.
The 20-year-old, who is contracted to Greater Western Sydney until the end of 2017, informed the club he was homesick and wanted to move back to his home state of Western Australia.
McCarthy's manager, Colin Young, told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Monday that his client wanted to be closer to his family and called for a meeting between all parties.
"Cameron's homesick to get home with his family, but he doesn't like living in Sydney," Young said.
"It'd be great if Leon (Cameron) or David (Matthews) could come over to Western Australia over the next 24 hours and sit down with Cam and his family, have a good chat about it, do their due diligence and then make a decision.
"I'm hoping that Fremantle and GWS will have a chat about it and discuss it at least."
McCarthy has been heavily linked with a move to Fremantle, who was prepared to offer its first-round picks in the next two drafts for the talented 193cm goalkicker.
Fremantle has since traded its first pick in this year’s NAB AFL Draft for Harley Bennell and received pick No.22 in return.
Cameron and Giants football manager Graeme Allan have repeatedly ruled out trading McCarthy.
He was recruited from South Fremantle with pick No.14 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.
McCarthy kicked 35 goals in his 20 appearances for the Giants this season.
Meanwhile, Young expressed his disappointment with Richmond football manager Dan Richardson's comments on Bennell last week.
Richardson revealed why the Tigers withdrew their interest in the former Gold Coast midfielder, claiming that Bennell did not show "a great deal of respect, nor did his management" when he toured Punt Road.
"To come out and say that it was disrespectful, I thought that was very unprofessional by Dan," Young said.
"It certainly sends the wrong messages to players that might want to meet with Dan next year if he comes out and says those comments."
