WHEN Luke Breust pulled a set shot at goal slightly to the left at the Adelaide Oval in round 17 last year, it looked as though we may never get a new outright leader in a famous streak.
The Hawthorn sharpshooter was aiming to break Tony Lockett's record for consecutive goals without a miss, but his unsuccessful shot left Breust and Plugger tied for the streak on 29 straight. Still a remarkable effort.
However we may not have to wait too long to crown a new champion in dead-eyed goalkicking.
Bulldog Tory Dickson has had an impressive year with 34 goals, 8 behinds but he's kicked the last 21 of those majors without a miss.
Some more steady shooting from the late-blooming Dog and he could be the unlikely forward to take a record off the game's all-time leading marksman before the year is out.
Check out who else is challenging history this weekend.
